On January 16, Jadwiga Kopala was sashed as a Grand Marshal of this year’s Pulaski Day Parade, the greatest gathering of American Polonia in the United States. The parade takes place annually on the first Sunday in October. It is one of the oldest and biggest parade’s in New York City’s history. Every year, the parade is led by a different state – New York or New Jersey and Connecticut. 2020 will be a year of New Jersey.
Jadwiga Kopala has been involved in the Pulaski Day Parade Main Committee for over 30 years. She has also been involved in many Polish organizations, where she has been volunteering for many years. She has also been very active in the church – as a volunteer and professionally – 
she is employed at the Archdiocese of Newark. Because of her involvement in the church, Jadwiga Kopala has chosen to dedicate the upcoming Parade to the priesthood. This year’s parade theme will also be celebrating John Paul II legacy in the 100th Anniversary of his birth, as well as Frédéric Chopin, in the 210th Anniversary of his birth.
The parade will take place on October 4, 2020 on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.
