Renowned Maspeth High-School became a subject of Queens DA investigation, after reports that its teachers were forced to fix grades and do everything possible to help students pass. The school was awarded prestigious Blue Ribbon award by the federal government in 2018. But with unusually high rotation of teachers, and perfect graduation score, its performance is now questioned.
Councilman Robert Holden was the one, who was approached by the whistleblowers with a load of evidence. After seeing it, the councilman reported the problem and brought it to public attention.
Additionally, as the councilman, who has years of experience as a college professor, states, the problem of grade-fraud is widespread in New York City.
