The body of Czeslawa Konefal was found on Thursday afternoon in the waters of Newtown Creek, on the Queens-side of the Kosciuszko Bridge. The 76-year-old Polish woman went missing on February 9, when she was last seen at St. Stanislaus Church in Greenpoint.
As reported by NYPD, on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at approximately 4:27 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an unconscious female in the water in the vicinity of the Kosciuszko Bridge, within the confines of the 108th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 76-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive, near the shoreline of Newtown Creek. EMS responded to the location and pronounced the female deceased at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing. The NYC Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
The family of Mrs. Konefal said through Radio RAMPA, that they wish to thank everyone involved in the search of Mrs. Konefal, for their efforts and prayers.
